FAQs

How will this help learn a language?

By making learning part of an everyday routine – it becomes much more manageable. Your word for the day can be practiced whenever you have the opportunity – or turned into a game – encouraging competition between family members to remember the word and use it!

Do I need a QR code scanner?

No – depending on your brand and model of phone you can simply hold your phone camera over the QR code and you will get a message asking you if you want to open the file. Click yes – and hey presto!

How do I use the word a day flipchart?

Pop the flip chart somewhere central in your home, make it part of the breakfast routine to turn the page over every day and practice each word when you can. Try and incorporate the word each day into your daily life (for example if you see a cat – practice saying it in your new language.
Equally – we have customer’s whose children love to take it and browse through using the QR codes to independently learn several words at a time.

Do you have any examples of ways I can use the words?

Try playing a game to see how many you can remember.
Try competing to see who can use it the most in one day.
If you’re feeling ambitious – try forming a sentence or part of a sentence by linking words – for example – once you have learnt the words ‘black’ and ‘cat’ try saying black cat.

Why don't you provide the translations?

Your brain retains the new word better this way. If you have the word in your native tongue - your brain will be 'distracted' by this and you will find it harder to retain the new word/verb you want to learn.

But what if I can't tell from the picture what the word is?

You can easily look this up on the internet - however we don't recommend that you write it next to the word on the flip chart - try and remember what it represents using the picutres.

How do I use the verb a week flip chart?

Pop the flipchart somewhere central in your home – and try referring to it every day – for example incorporate it into your breakfast or dinner routine. Try to remember one of the tenses at a time – and turn it into a competition with other household members. Test each other with one of you looking at the flip chart and the other reciting from memory. Use the QR audio file if you’re not sure on pronunciation.

Is it a miracle solution?
